Celebrate Nature at the Annual General Meeting

Wilkinson Tract
Jun 10, 9am to 1pm

Three events will take place today (rain or shine): two walks followed by our Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Bird Walk at 9am  The marsh should be hopping and the woods full of song.  Between these two habitats we should find at least thirty species with possibilities of Green Heron, Pileated Woodpecker, Alder Flycatcher, and Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
Plant Walk at 10:30am The last of the spring wildflowers will be in bloom and early summer plants will be prominent.  The walk will take us through a mixed forest with its distinctly “northern” character, then out into the open cattail marsh and alder swamp.  Trilliums, Jack-in-the-Pulpit, ferns, Solomon’s Seal, Wintergreen and more await.
For the walks, the trails can be a bit muddy in places and water is often flowing over Pogue Road so rubber boots are recommended for the walks. Being June there may be some biting insects (we have a variety) so bring repellent and wear long sleeves and pants.

AGM at 12pm Join us for the AGM where we will review the exciting accomplishments that Lone Pine has been working on over the past year. The actual meeting starts at noon but we have two optional field trips before that. Active members (having paid for 2017-18 starting on May 1) are encouraged to attend and vote. For the meeting, bring your lawn chair and lunch and dress for the weather forecast.

Directions: From Cty. Rd. 25 go east on Cty. Rd. 21 for 4.1 km until you reach Pogue Rd. (just west of Dundonald).  Turn north on Pogue Rd. and proceed for 1.6 km.  Our property is on the left and is marked by a sign. From Cty. Rd. 30 turn west at Hilton on to Cty. Rd. 21.  Proceed west for 8 km, through Dundonald, until you reach Pogue Rd.  Turn north and proceed for 1.6 km. Our property is on the left and is marked by a sign.
